We are looking for top talent to join the UK’s leading and fastest growing pathology company – a scientific organisation with a clinical purpose.
Working in partnership with our service partners, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital and Princess Royal University Hospital we aim to set the standard for the future of pathology.
An exciting project has commenced to design and build a hub and spoke laboratory model that will house state of the art equipment and a modern LIMS.
Your role will involve co-ordination of day-to-day activities and implementation of service improvement projects, for a large, core chemistry department, currently based at Guy’s and St. Thomas’.
Biochemistry Senior BMS - Band 7 equiv.
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 BMS to join our busy 24/7 Automated Chemistry department, which is made up of several laboratories spread across both the Guy’s and St Thomas’ sites.
We are looking to recruit a motivated and progressive Band 7 BMS to join our senior BMS team.
Automated Chemistry is a dynamic and forward thinking department providing an expert automated analytical service across two major London teaching hospitals. The 24/7 service is delivered using Roche c8000 instrumentation, with a test repertoire in excess of 130 assays. The chemistry department also includes a Specialist Lipid section, Diabetic Clinics, Fetal Medicine laboratory, and provides Intra-Operative PTH Monitoring during Parathyroidectomy surgery.
We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge and experience of working within a Biochemistry laboratory. Previous experience of method or equipment validation, and a familiarity with the requirements for ISO15189 is essential. The successful candidate will possess the investigative and presentation skills required to lead on all aspects of quality assurance, both internal and external, across the Chemistry service, with the aim of maintaining standards for UKAS accreditation.

SYNLAB has formed a new pathology partnership with Guy’s and St Thomas’, and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts to deliver and transform NHS pathology services across South East London.
