Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust was formed in October 2019, following the merger of 2gether NHS Foundation Trust and Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust. The two Trusts joined together to provide integrated mental health, physical health and learning disability services to communities.
We are looking for a highly motivated Nurse/ Operating Department Practitioner to join our JAG accredited endoscopy unit within Princess Anne Day Surgery and Endoscopy Unit. The endoscopy unit undertakes endoscopic diagnostic and treatment procedures on a day case basis.
The ideal candidate will have post registration experience in endoscopy or theatre, with the range of skills required to work in all areas of the service provided by endoscopy. A knowledge of JAG processes, and JET training is desirable for this position however a comprehensive training package is available for the right candidate. There will be opportunity to work across the unit in the operating theatre and on the Day Surgery Ward for the candidate with the relevant skills.

The role of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) is to support the efficient running of the Endoscopy service in our JAG accredited unit. The services provided include joint working with the Day Surgery Unit and Theatre team.
The endoscopy unit undertakes endoscopic diagnostic and treatment procedures. The RN/ODP will be able to fulfil all the roles in endoscopy from admitting to discharge, assisting with procedures and decontamination. Your experience and knowledge will support the team to innovate and develop practice.
