The Trigger Response team work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to ensure the best possible care is provided to deteriorating patients in the hospital. 

Our pro-active approach to patient care ensures that acutely unwell patients are reviewed and treated appropriately in the quickest time frame possible. We ensure patient's have up to date and appropriate plans of care in place. We will perform initial investigations and intervene early.

Your role will include consultation with the clinicians in charge of a patient will take place to ensure the patient is getting the most appropriate treatment for their clinical condition, end of life and palliative care discussions to provide a comfortable and dignified end of life experience to patients where necessary and the  stabilisation and transfer to Intensive care will be facilitated where necessary and appropriate.

The Resuscitation Training service ensures that the highest quality life support training is offered to all staff in the trust that need to stay up to date and current.

You will support the safe delivery of clinical practice and guidance to ward and department staff during all working hours and under supervision, support and implement practise to ensure a high standard and safe level of patient care is achieved throughout the 24-hour period.

You will carry continuing responsibility for the provision of a highly specialist service which includes the development of trust wide clinical practice, planning, organisation and co-ordination of internal and external training programmes and education, consultation and information resource, undertake research and to lead clinical audit relating to resuscitation and care of the deteriorating patient.

You will ensure that Basic, Intermediate and Advanced life support are offered for adults, children and new born's to ensure all staff are trained appropriately to the demographic of their patients and that recognition and deterioration of the acutely unwell patient is also taught to ensure that staff feel empowered to recognise and escalate to the Trigger Response team and other appropriate clinicians.
