Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking pharmacy assistant to work in our outpatient pharmacy team at Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
You will need to be organised and well-motivated and have excellent communication and people skills, as well as the ability to adapt quickly to new situations. This role will be solely based in the Outpatient Pharmacy for Simply Serve Ltd (SSL), a wholly owned subsidiary company of Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and will work closely with the superintendent pharmacist to ensure outpatients are provided with first class pharmaceutical care.

You will be expected to supervise and participate in day to day routine activities of the dispensary in line with current policies and procedures, ensuring smooth workflow and creating a professional and organised environment.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Essential criteria
- Good General Education – to include good grades in Maths, Science and English (Grades A*-C)
- NVQ3 in a relatable subject or equivalent e.g. 2 x A Levels, AVCE, BTEC National, Certificate/Diploma, Vocational A-Levels. An ONC (Ordinary National Certificate) and OND (Ordinary National Diploma) are both broadly comparable to a Level 3 qualification
