Job overview
Applications are invited for a replacement Consultant in Urology. It is expected that the post holder will be trained in general urology and have a subspecialist interest to compliment the wider department, preferably stones, Endourology.
A whole-time or part-time contract will be available, according to the wishes of the appointee. A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time contract a part-time contract will be considered. If such a candidate is appointed, the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.

Advert
- Share with consultant colleagues the urological workload.
- Provide with the other consultants a system of mutual out-of-hours cover for annual, study and professional leave. The current on call system is 1:12 weekdays and weekend on call is currently 1 in 14.
- Give a consultation and advisory service to medical colleagues in other specialities in the Trusts.
- Liaise with medical staff in other specialities and participate in the regular clinical
meetings and other post-graduate activities of the hospitals. - Take part in the Royal College of Surgeons continuing medical education programme. The employing Trust will provide study leave expenses in line with national terms and conditions of service.
- Play a full part in the teaching and audit activities of the department.
- Participate in the rolling process of clinical governance at JPUH and NNUH
- Contribute to management of the service.
- Comply with the outline Consultant work programme (under provisions of Circular HC90/16) and the weekly timetable of fixed commitments (ie: regular scheduled NHS activities in accordance with paragraph 30B of the TCS).

Travelling to work
Staff parking is available onsite; however, this is limited during core working hours. We have more capacity in the evening and at weekends and can usually provide spaces during those hours.
We look to allocate these spaces fairly. Our Travel Office have a set of criteria that staff must meet in order to qualify. If you qualify for a space, you may be placed on a waiting list if we are at full capacity.
The NNUH is served by a number of public buses, and we offer generously discounted monthly passes with First Bus & Konect.
The Costessey Park and Ride runs regularly each day from 06:30 (from P&R) to 20:45 (from NNUH) and this service is free for NHS staff. There is a regular Thickthorn P&R service as well which is free. Applications to the Travel Office are required for this service. We also have a discounted service from the airport P&R if you purchase a bundle. Please see Konect website for further details.
The NNUH host multiple bicycle racks and a salary sacrifice scheme. We also benefit from a Beryl station onsite.
