The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of acute clinical services for a catchment area of up over 1 million people. ** Fixed term/Secondment opportunity for 12 months from appointment**
The Recognise and Respond Team is fast paced and diverse; The team comprises of four arms; Rapid Response, Education and Quality Improvement, Resuscitation and Critical Care Anaesthetic Practitioners. The successful candidate will work as part of the Critical Care Anesthetic Practitioner Team, responding to and supporting acute airway management of patients in Critical Care and the wards.
They will also be fully involved in the team’s education and quality improvement projects, working alongside the senior team to improve standards of care across the trust through education, audit and quality improvement. They will also work alongside the resuscitation team to support the delivery of both direct patient care through cardiac arrest response and education. This is a hugely exciting role within a dynamic team and we would encourage anyone who has the skills, passion and dedication to make contact.

You will work as a junior Critical Care Anaesthetic Practitioner on the Critical Care Complex.
You will demonstrate their experience in delivering high standards of patient care within the Critical Care Complex or acute patient areas, learning from the current CCAP’s to develop their own skills and knowledge to gain the core competencies of the CCAP role.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- You will work as an competent practitioner, contributing to the development of the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring the most effective utilisation of resources.
- Attend all airway and emergency calls within the Critical Care Complex and wider Trust. Prioritising your own time to manage the needs of the unit, as well as patients in need of Critical Care elsewhere in the Trust.
- Your Clinical responsibilities include: bleep response attending all airway and emergency calls within the Critical Care Complex and wider Trust and support of nursing and medical teams, across the trust in the review of patients with compromised airway.
- To support all trauma and cardiac arrest calls for both adult and paediatric patients across the Critical Care Complex, Emergency Department, Admission areas and In-patient wards.
- To work alongside the wider Recognise and Respond Team to support clinical activity, using advanced clinical skills to undertake and support procedures essential to patient care.
- You will be personally accountable for undertaking a range of enhanced skills specific to the clinical area in accordance with trust Policy.
- You will also Maintain and ensure that patient safety, comfort, dignity and confidentiality remains paramount

Travelling to work
Staff parking is available onsite; however, this is limited during core working hours. We have more capacity in the evening and at weekends and can usually provide spaces during those hours.
We look to allocate these spaces fairly. Our Travel Office have a set of criteria that staff must meet in order to qualify. If you qualify for a space, you may be placed on a waiting list if we are at full capacity.
The NNUH is served by a number of public buses, and we offer generously discounted monthly passes with First Bus & Konect.
The Costessey Park and Ride runs regularly each day from 06:30 (from P&R) to 20:45 (from NNUH) and this service is free for NHS staff. There is a regular Thickthorn P&R service as well which is free. Applications to the Travel Office are required for this service. We also have a discounted service from the airport P&R if you purchase a bundle. Please see Konect website for further details.
The NNUH host multiple bicycle racks and a salary sacrifice scheme. We also benefit from a Beryl station onsite.
