This advert a SEND Specialist based in Greenwich. The postholders will form part of the Health Visiting Teams in the boroughs.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed, self-driven, motivated practitioner who has the enthusiasm and passion to drive forward the SEND offer in Greenwich.
Advert
To provide advice and support to children with additional needs and their families/carers, especially during the assessment process and following diagnosis. To undertake home visits/school/nursery visits to assist in assessment and diagnosis using appropriate observation and assessment tools. To identify those children who have inclusion difficulties because of their health, development, behaviour or social disadvantages and to work with education, parents/carers and other agencies as appropriate to minimise the impact of their difficulties. To have knowledge/ experience of SEND and issues facing children young people with additional needs 0-19 and ability to engage with children/young people. The post holder will be required to identify any barriers to engagement and adjust communication in line with the accessible information standard. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring staff training and clinical practice, audit and data collection, roll out of best practice standards within all front-line staff Link into Bromley local area SEND Networks (such as SEND Network Champions forum) and contribute to the SEND improvement agenda in Bromley. The post holder must be able to work flexibly and independently as part of a multi-disciplinary team. |

You will provide expert knowledge around SEND and will have the ability to facilitate learning for clinical and support staff.
The post holder works with the Service Lead to support practice in relation to SEND and the post holder will have the ability to develop SEND initiatives/guidelines in response to local, regional and national guidance.
Audit and action planning experience is essential as you will be required to monitor and measure implementation of best practice standards.
The successful applicant must be driven by a passion to provide effective, evidence based and personalised care. You should be an enthusiastic health professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and empower others.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team are essential.

Salary is determined by NHS experience and current banding/pay point. External applicants will begin at the entry point of the salary scale in line with NHS terms and conditions.
