Are you looking for a new challenge as part of a leadership team?
We are looking for an experienced clinician to be a deputy manager for North Oxon CAMHS. You will be a qualified professional (Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Clinical Psychologist, Family Therapist or Psychotherapist) with professional registration. We are seeking people with an interest in leadership and in developing staff.
In our CAMHS service we are proud to be developing a needs led, responsive and accessible services based on the i-Thrive model.
North Oxon CAMHS is an established team based which is growing with new investment into new roles. This is an exciting time to join our team, as we are currently developing our service to improve the accessibility, responsiveness and excellent care that we provide to children, young people and their families.
In this role you will be supporting the Clinical Team Manager by undertaking both clinical and operational duties to ensure that we continue to deliver a high quality service. You will be part of a dynamic local leadership team that meet frequently and work closely together. There is a supportive leadership ethos in North Oxon CAMHS with regular managers meetings and opportunities for coaching or mentoring.

The appointed deputy manager will work along side the leadership team to support the clinical and operational duties within our service.
You will be expected to undertake generic mental health and risk assessments of children and young people open to the Getting More Help Team. Depending on the needs of the YP this could either be on an urgent or routine basis. Working collaboratively with CYP families/other agencies you will develop holistic plans of care which are evidence based.
You will be expected to hold a clinical caseload which consists of key working and providing evidence based support. At present we are achieving this on a hybrid basis, with a mixture of office working and working from home.
You will be expected to partake in the duty rota. This entails the clinician to respond and support plans for children and young people who are presenting with an element of risk and are waiting for our service.

Essential criteria
- A recorded/registered qualification in one of the following - nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or a psychological therapy
- Evidence of continuing professional development and maintenance of relevant professional qualification
Desirable criteria
- Professional knowledge acquired through degree/diploma A recorded/registered doctoral level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology with current HCPC registration
- Teaching/mentoring qualification
- Leadership training
Experiance
Essential criteria
- Significant post qualification experience in a mental health setting, working with young people with mental illness.
- Experience of mentoring and clinical supervision of others
Desirable criteria
- Experience and understanding of working within the education setting.
- Experience of working with children and young people who have serious mental illness and their families and carers in the community
Knowledge and skills
Essential criteria
- To have ability to manage case load and experience of acting as care coordinator for clients on a case list
- To be able to function as part of multi-disciplinary team and liaise with external agencies i.e. primary care, education, social and health care.
- To have ability to assess client need, both mental health, health and social needs
- Ability to reflect on and critically appraise the performance of self and others.
- Have ability to follow policy and make proposal for change
- Understanding of evidence based practice and the ability to demonstrate how this influences clinical practice
- Understanding of principles and methods of clinical audit, research and service evaluation
- Maintain patient records both written and electronic
- Can maintain professional standards and follow codes of practice
