Scarborough Hospital Catering Department requires an enthusiastic Chef to work in the Main Kitchen of the Catering Department.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to be adaptable and flexible, in order to work variable hours. You must be able to use initiative, be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal and organisational/time management skills,
Applicants must be able to work under pressure, prioritise their own workload and be able to carry out physical tasks.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation & Cooking Tasks
- Maintenance of Hygiene Standards
- Food Safety , Assured Safe Catering Health and Safety Legislation
- Follow Department procedures and good practices
- Keeping the kitchen areas clean
- Monitoring food temperatures as part of HACCP
- Washing up and other general cleaning duties
- Knowledge of Special Diets
- Organise daily working plan prioritising
- Reorganise menus at short notice
The ideal candidate will have catering experience, be fantastic with customers, a good team player and able to work on their own unsupervised. Full training will also be provided. Enhanced rates apply when working at the weekend.

DBS Checks
Please be aware that all new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in 1 payment or over a six month period once you start employment. By applying you are agreeing to this undertaking.
