Job overview
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our Nursing teams based at Glangwili General Hospital in Carmarthen.
Opportunities are available in the following areas:-
Accident & Emergency – consists of 3 Resus, 13 major bays and Triage and is the supporting EU within the Health Board for all specialist pathways including Major Trauma, Urology, ENT, GI, Paediatrics, Gynaecology.
Teifi - a 30 bedded Trauma & Orthopaedic ward (including Major Trauma patients) supporting rehabilitation post operatively (Up to 17 hours per week).
Merlin Ward - a 17 bedded surgical ward specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat (including allocated elective surgical ENT pathway).
Clinical Decision Unit - Acute medical admissions conveyed from EU or referred by General Practitioners – will see patients with a wide range of Acute medical problems including strokes and chest conditions.
Preseli - a 15 bedded general surgical ward specialising in colorectal (up to 30.5 hours per week).
Dewi - is a 20 bedded ward specialising in acute general medicine (up to 12 hours per week).

Working for our organisation
Glangwili General Hospital is a busy, friendly, and well-equipped hospital which opened in 1949. There are approx. 260 acute and elective inpatient beds, supporting emergency surgical and medical admissions. There is a 24-hour Emergency Unit and a Minor Injuries Unit Day service. The medical wards are assigned to Respiratory, Gastroenterology/Haematology, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Stroke/Rehabilitation, General Medicine, Elderly care, and Rehabilitation.
Glangwili General Hospital also provides Emergency General Surgery, Urology, Orthopaedics/Major Trauma, ENT, and Gynaecology admissions, with elective care admissions in ENT & Gynaecology.
The combination of the excellent team working, and staff development opportunities have allowed considerable progress and innovation of services in Glangwili General Hospital.
