Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Surgical Specialties Division at University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, for a talented Assistant General Manager to manage our Trauma and Orthopaedic service.
We are looking for a dynamic leader, who is passionate about quality, patient-centred care, and our people. You will oversee operational delivery of the Elective Orthopaedic Centre at Grafton Way Building, and work closely with the wider MDT and colleagues from across the NCL Orthopaedic Network to drive improvement of clinical services amongst a wide variety of other interesting improvement projects.

The Assistant General Manager in T&O is an exciting role, providing key operational leadership across elective orthopaedic and non-elective trauma services at UCH. The role is pivotal to the successful delivery of the Elective Orthopaedic Centre in Grafton Way Building and the continued provision of excellent orthopaedic care for patients. The role manages the T&O administrative team, who support a busy outpatient service delivered across UCH and ISEH, as well as management of inpatient pathways and admissions in GWB and UCH.
The successful candidate will be expected to drive forward elective recovery in T&O, implementing new transformation initiatives whilst maintaining a strong handle on key performance metrics. They will identify opportunities for improvement and growth, and contribute towards business planning and strategy for the service. The department’s portfolio requires a strong grasp of performance standards, and the successful candidate will oversee and drive compliance for RTT.
This role involves active engagement with and input into the North Central London Orthopaedic Network, including joint working across multiple Trusts in order to provide streamlined pathways and equality in access of care for patients.
