Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - Health Visitor 0-19 Universal Children's Service .
West Locality Team is going through some exciting changes supporting the development of the family/community hubs in Barking . We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and innovative Health Visitors to be a part of our team to implement the healthy child programme requirements for the family/community hubs.
Whether you are a newly qualified health visitor and are looking to gain confidence and experience, or an experienced Health Visitor, we would welcome your application.
We offer opportunities for learning and development in order to develop in your role, with collaborative working within an integrated skill-mix team. We offer agile working and place an emphasis on the health and well-being of our staff. We work collaboratively with other agencies and towards reducing health inequalities for children, young people and their families and the safety and well-being of our clients is always paramount.
For newly qualified practitioners, we have a preceptorship programme in place to support development and learning and offer clinical supervision and mentorship. Also, there is opportunity for experienced health visitors to develop their skills in audit and research. NELFT invest in staff continuous professional development.

Job Overview
- To lead the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, and ensure the Service model is implemented in practice.
- Ensure services are provided within the 4 tier model- Your Community, Universal, Universal plus and Partnership plus. This will incorporate building community capacity, and embedding this into caseload, team and locality management.
- Responsible for the management of caseload allocation as per locality/team, and classification of cases in line with the national strategy of Universal, Universal plus and Universal partnership plus.
- Work in accordance to the Locality commissioned service specification, to ensure the 5 mandated reviews are completed within required timescales and services provided are evidence based practice.
- To improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people especially those from disadvantaged groups.

- Student Health Visitor due to qualify
- Evidence of working with children and young people
- Willing to undertake further training as required

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement – London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary with a minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum (pro rata for part-time).

Welcome Payment
This post is eligible for the Trust 'Welcome to NELFT' Payment. A lump sum of 10% of the agreed basic salary, which is subject to a minimum of £4,000 and maximum of £10,000 of the full time basic salary (pro rata if part time and exclusive of HCAS payments). Payment of the incentive is applied with 50% paid at the end of the probationary period (typically six months) and then 50% at the end of year two. This welcome package is applicable to external candidates only.
It is expected that you remain employed with NELFT for 2 years, should you leave within 2 years the Trust reserves the right to reclaim any monies paid.
