At NNUH it is our privilege to provide healthcare to over one million people across Norfolk and surrounding areas. Our vision is to ‘provide the best care for every patient’, and if this inspires you and you share our values, we really want you to join our team.
NNUH is currently the busiest Trauma Unit in the East of England caring for almost 850 trauma patients annually many with complex care needs. We are enhancing our urgent and emergency care specialist services for patients with significant injuries as a result of trauma and have an ambition to become a Major Trauma Centre.
Our values support our vision and guide the behaviour of everything we do, these are:
People-focused
We look after the needs of our patients, carers and colleagues, to provide a safe and caring experience for all.
Respect
We act with care, compassion and kindness and value others’ diverse needs.
Integrity
We take an honest, open and ethical approach to everything we do.
Dedication
We work as one team and support each other to maintain the highest professional standards.
Excellence
We continuously learn and improve to achieve the best outcomes for our patients and our hospital.
Wish you were here? So do we.
We want all our staff to achieve a balance between work and personal life and understand how important flexible working can be. We welcome applications on a full or part time basis, various shift patterns and hybrid working, where roles allow.
At the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH), we know the benefits diversity can bring to our organisation such as creativity, innovation and compassion. All of which have a direct impact towards our staff and patient experience. We are committed to being a Hospital for All – being equitable and inclusive, and a place where all feel a sense of belonging. We therefore particularly encourage and welcome applications from candidates who are underrepresented in NNUH’s workforce. These include people from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, people with diverse abilities and people within the LGBT+ community.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Radiographer or other healthcare professional to join our team.
As you may be aware the NNUH Diagnostic Assessment Centre (DAC) is due to open in early 2025.
The new Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Community Diagnostic Centre is due to open in February 2025. As part of the workforce requirements the Radiology department will be supporting development of current staff through various training opportunities.
The CDC will have two ultrasound scan rooms in addition to our existing obstetric and general US service. To support the additional Sonographers required to support all areas of our service we need to grow our current Sonographer team by training new Sonographers (a B7 role fully trained). The medical ultrasound qualification is a Postgraduate Diploma and will involve full time clinical work (paid at B6 from training commencement) alongside online academic learning as part of a two year course.
The NNUH Ultrasound Department currently consists of five general ultrasound rooms and five obstetric ultrasound rooms and a Vascular Lab. In addition, we provide a general ultrasound service in Cromer and a smaller outreach clinic and support one-stop clinic provision within the Trust.
The Imaging Department at the NNUH has recently been re-accredited with the QSI and is undergoing a significant asset replacement programme.

The Postgraduate Diploma course while very rewarding is hard work and at times intensive, therefore candidates need to have good levels of self-motivation and be highly committed.
This is a busy role with varying learning demands, so building an effective rapport and effective communication with colleagues and patients, as well as being ready to learn and to take guidance will be really important.
Work undertaking different shift patterns at NNUH, and at other locations, as required in the provision of a 7 day ultrasound service.
