Main duties of the job:
- To complete an accurate and evidenced based nutritional assessment of patients referred to the dietetic service.
- To be provide subsequent specialist assessments for patients within the caseload to assist in the determination of the nutritional diagnosis and formulation of patient-centred treatment plans and goals.
- To plan, deliver, evaluate, and modify specialist nutritional care for patients with complex medical conditions and social needs.
- Provide nutritional advice in an accessible format to patients and carers in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team and other agencies involved.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, share good practice, develop robust professional networks and support of colleagues.
- Actively participate in audit and research activities to ensure evidence-based practice, quality improvement and service effectiveness.
- Responsible for the clinical development and supervision of newly qualified staff and student dietitians as well as acting as a professional resource for other dietitians.
- To support the development of a culture of accountability and governance at all levels.

- Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
- Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Dietitian

- Higher degree or advanced diploma in Dietetics
- Parenteral & Enteral Nutrition Group Clinical Update Course or equivalent Advanced Dietetic approved course
- Member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA)
Experience

- Relevant post registration clinical experience
- Experience of regular teaching and delivery of presentations - locally
- Produce and present clear / concise and timely written information
- Clinical supervisory student training course & regular involvement in student training and assessment
- Portfolio of audit / research experience

- Published audit / research
Knowledge
