Job overview
The Lancashire Cardiac Centre is a regional centre providing tertiary cardiology services to Lancashire and South Cumbria. The Device service continues to expand and performs around 900 procedures annually. As well as implantation we are a regional service offering lead extraction (Rotational extraction sheath and femoral), Subcutaneous ICD, and Micra implantation. We also perform some hybrid surgical procedures which there will be an opportunity to gain experience of. We have 4 and a half days of device implantation in catheter labs weekly (one day a fortnight with general anaesthesia support) and run device clinics every day.

This job would be for up to 1 year subject to satisfactory performance assessed at 6 monthly intervals. There will be no commitment to on call cover
(a) Provision of in-patient care for the patients of Device Consultants as required .
(b) Support for cardiac devices interventions in the Catheter Lab.
(c) Attendance at Cardiology Pacing clinic and device Consultant Clinics at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre at Victoria Hospital Blackpool
(d) Occasional teaching of Nursing Staff and Junior Doctors and Medical Students

- Primary medical qualification
- Full GMC Registration MRCP or equivalent, , cardiology experience at registrar level
- Experience of device implantation and follow up
Desirable criteria
- CCT in Cardiology
- BHRS/EHRA/IBHRE accreditation in device therapy
