Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Clinical Specialist - Nurse / Generic to join the Specialist Perinatal Community Mental Health Service in North Yorkshire.
The service offers support and treatment to women experiencing moderate to severe mental illness during the perinatal period (through pregnancy and up to 12 months post-natal) and continues to develop following the national investment and ambitions of the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health and the NHS Long Term Plan.
The successful applicant will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse / Registered Allied Health Professional (Social Work, HCPC) with considerable community experience.

The North Yorkshire and York Perinatal Team - Harrogate, Hambleton & Richmondshire Cell covers a wide geographic area of North Yorkshire.
The successful candidate will be an active member for the Senior Leadership team whilst clinically leading the team and supporting with service improvement and operational duties when required.
The post holder will take part in building strong links with primary care colleagues and secondary care services ensuring that effective pathways are in place. An element of the role will also include providing training relating to perinatal mental health for other disciplines.
The successful candidate will provide daily leadership to other members of the multi-disciplinary team and will be involved in the ongoing review and development of the service. This will involve working effectively with other leadership colleagues and external stakeholders.
There will be an expectation that you will be involved in the assessment, formulation, and planning processes of treatment.
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Trust Welcome Day
Here at Tees, Esk and Wear Valley Foundation NHS Trust we want you to have a positive experience when you start your new role with us. To ensure you have great welcome, for all new starters joining the Trust, we offer two start dates per month on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of that Month.

Essential criteria
- Registration with relevant professional body. (e.g. NMC, GMC, HCPC, Social Work-England)
- For nursing professions – Recognised Practice Supervisor and /or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent
- And Trained in providing clinical supervision
- For other professions – evidence of training in clinical supervision of other staff and able to demonstrate competence in this area of practice in clinical supervision of other staff and/or students/ trainees.
- All professions - Postgraduate diploma (or above) in a subject relevant to the area of practice or be willing to work towards and achieve within 2 years.
- Within the first year of being in post hold a recognised advanced clinical qualification or Masters level credits e.g., Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Post Grad diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy /NMP e.g. dysphagia, posture, autism assessment, rebound, social prescribing, sensory processing, Approved Mental Health Professional, Practice Educator (level 3 Independent Prescriber) * Note any other advanced qualification/masters credits not listed here as an example, must be clearly evidenced and listed as “advanced qualification or masters credits” - within the individuals application form
- And have Equivalent clinical experience to that of a Post Grad Diploma/master’s level such as working as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area with significant experience (see below under experience), together with evidence of relevant CPD
