Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) serves over 5 million people in the Yorkshire region covering an urban and rural area of almost 6,000 square miles and operates over vastly differing terrain ranging from isolated moors and dales to city centres, large urban areas and coastal stretches. YAS employs around 4500 staff and has over 2000 volunteers working together to provide 24 hour accident and emergency healthcare services through our Communication centres and frontline A&E crews and our Patient Transport Service (PTS) that conveys in excess of 1.1 million patients to and from their hospital appointments across Yorkshire and neighbouring counties each year. YAS is an integral part of all the health communities across Yorkshire and we are committed to delivering the highest quality patient care.
