The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of acute clinical services for a catchment area of up over 1 million people. Come and join one of the largest acute trusts in the UK, based in a modern, purpose-built hospital on the outskirts of beautiful Norwich. We are incredibly proud of being a Trust who genuinely supports staff development as we encourage everyone to achieve their potential.
Our busy maternity service provides care for approximately 5000 deliveries per year. We have a team providing community based midwifery services as well as our Out Patient Department and in-patient facilities.
On site, we have 32 postnatal beds incorporating 5 transitional care beds, and 13 antenatal beds.
Our Delivery Suite/Triage area has 15 birthing rooms including a birthing pool, 2 obstetric theatres, anaesthetic and recovery rooms that provide a full range of facilities for high dependency care.
We also provide a Maternity Assessment Unit, which offers a resource for women to attend and be reviewed as required. We additionally provide a co-located Midwifery Led Birthing Unit which comprises of 4 birthing rooms, with water birth facilities available.

The NNUH team of midwives is expanding. We are therefore seeking applications from newly qualified midwives, to join our team as Band 5 Midwife in a rotational role – working within both a hospital and potentially, within a community setting.
You will support the delivery of high quality, safe, and compassionate maternity care.
Undertake the necessary supervision, care and advice to women during
pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period. To conduct deliveries, on her
own responsibility and to care for the newborn. Working in co-operation with midwifery colleagues, the Obstetricians, General Practitioners and other appropriate agencies.
Maintain effective channels of communications with the relevant departments within the Unit, Midwifery Team and other professional personnel in the community e.g.: the Primary Health Care Team, Social Services, Voluntary Agencies

1. To undertake the necessary supervision, care and advice to women during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period. To conduct deliveries, on her own responsibility and to care for the newborn. Travelling to work
Staff parking is available onsite; however, this is limited during core working hours. We have more capacity in the evening and at weekends and can usually provide spaces during those hours.
We look to allocate these spaces fairly. Our Travel Office have a set of criteria that staff must meet in order to qualify. If you qualify for a space, you may be placed on a waiting list if we are at full capacity.
The NNUH is served by a number of public buses, and we offer generously discounted monthly passes with First Bus & Konect.
The Costessey Park and Ride runs regularly each day from 06:30 (from P&R) to 20:45 (from NNUH) and this service is free for NHS staff. There is a regular Thickthorn P&R service as well which is free. Applications to the Travel Office are required for this service. We also have a discounted service from the airport P&R if you purchase a bundle. Please see Konect website for further details.
The NNUH host multiple bicycle racks and a salary sacrifice scheme. We also benefit from a Beryl station onsite.

DBS
