There are excellent training opportunities available including informal theatre and critical care teaching, tutorials and simulation-based training. We have access to a nationally recognised award winning simulation suite for training. There are opportunities in transoesophageal and transthoracic echocardiography as well as ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia and nerve blocks. This varied experience will provide a solid platform to prepare for higher level examinations. MTI trainees are released to attend weekly FRCA tutorials and will also be able to attend teaching courses as part of preparation for the FRCA examinations. Blackpool has an excellent reputation for teaching and helping trainees to pass the FRCA with surveys consistently giving us very good feedback.
