Our extensive health services are provided by over 8,000 dedicated members of staff working from two acute hospitals in Hastings and Eastbourne, three community hospitals in Bexhill, Rye and Uckfield, over 100 community sites across East Sussex, and in people’s own homes.

Our two acute hospitals have emergency departments and provide 24 hour a day care, offering a comprehensive range of surgical, medical, outpatient and maternity services, supported by a full range of diagnostic and therapy services. Our centre for trauma services and obstetrics is at Conquest Hospital, while our centre for urology and stroke services is at Eastbourne DGH. At Bexhill Hospital we offer a range of outpatient, day surgery, rehabilitation and intermediate care services. At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.
In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

Job overview
We have vacancies on Michelham and Hailsham Wards for a Registered Nursing Associate. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated candidates to join our busy departments. We are one team working across two areas.
Michelham is an admissions unit for Urology and ENT admitting directly from A&E, GP referrals, cancer services and patient self referrals. We also treat a large number of ward attenders who need treatment and are not for admission.
Hailsham is our elective surgical ward caring for a wide variety of specialties including ENT, Urology, Gynaecology, Breast, Max Fax and General Surgery. Both wards have a high turnover rate of patients.
The successful applicant will be involved in supporting the trained nurses to deliver high standards of care whilst using a wide range of skills. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career and be part of a dynamic and supportive team.
This is a full time post to cover a 24/7 service.

Work with Registered Practitioners in the provision of nursing care.
To be involved in the admission and discharge process, completing assessments and individual care plans meeting the holistic needs of the patients. Completing patient referrals to other services to ensure safe care provision.
