About
Welcome to Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust
At Epsom and St Helier, we’re proud to care for more than 490,000 people across south west London and north east Surrey. We provide a wide range of services including cancer care, pathology, surgery and gynaecology.
Our two busy hospitals, Epsom Hospital and St Helier Hospital, are at the heart of our Trust, supported by other key sites such as Sutton Hospital. We also play an important role in two forward-thinking integrated care partnerships: Sutton Health and Care, and Surrey Downs Health and Care.
St Helier Hospital is home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children, while Epsom Hospital hosts the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC). Both hospitals have 24-hour Accident and Emergency departments and maternity services, keeping our communities safe and supported around the clock.
Every year, nearly 900,000 people come through our doors for care and treatment. Our 8,700+ staff and 500 volunteers work tirelessly to provide outstanding services and compassionate care to every patient, every time.
As teaching hospitals, we are helping to shape the future of healthcare. We work closely with St George’s Hospital and St George’s Medical School to offer high-quality education and research opportunities. Outside of St George’s Hospital, we support more medical students than any other teaching hospital in south London.
Sutton Health and Care
Sutton Health and Care is a pioneering partnership between Epsom and St Helier hospitals, the GP Federation in Sutton, the London Borough of Sutton, and South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust.
Together, we deliver joined-up care for our community. We support adults in their own homes, provide children’s community health services, and offer sexual health services across the borough.
On 1 April 2019, adult and children’s community health services transferred to Sutton Health and Care from The Royal Marsden, and sexual health services transferred from Chelsea and Westminster. Staff delivering these services are employed by Epsom and St Helier hospitals, making us a central part of this innovative partnership.
