Blackpool Teaching Hospitals are looking for a highly motivated and committed Band 6 nurse to work within the Acute Stroke and Rehabilitation Unit which has strong links to the wider Integrated medical division and we welcome applicants with an interest within this specialty.
This a dual role unique to Stroke - you will be trained in how to assess individuals admitted to ED with stroke symptoms and provide a direct service to the unit via CT to provide emergency treatment (including 24 hour thrombolysis) and transfers. You will be working on a busy multi-disciplinary, 38 bedded unit and the role also requires you to support and co-ordinate patients and staff to ensure safe, effective care is provided.
This is an excellent time to join the team with the opening of the Ambulatory clinic, transition to a Hyper Acute unit and the ongoing changes and developments for Stroke services to ensure the best care is provided to our patients.
As a Trust, we recommend that individuals employed in patient facing roles, or those located on a ward or department where patients receive a service are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

We are focused on the care that our patients receive and that their carers are given the opportunity to be involved in a range of patient educational activities. This will be supported by the Specialist stroke team.
