NHS funding for psychological professions training programmes
A 2yr psychological prof funding rule policy was implemented from 1/4/22. This rule applies to any person starting on NHS-funded psychological prof training programmes. The training associated with this post falls within this policy. Trainees will normally not be eligible to receive NHS funding for a subsequent psychological professions training (where this may lead to a change of occupation) until a min of 2yr after the award for the first training is recommended by a qualifying examination board or by chair’s action after the qualifying exam board. You will need to submit an application form to Kings College for a place on the Postgrad Certificate in Child and Young Person IAPT Supervision in addition to the job application that you make to the relevant Service

Your week will consist of attending the one-year training course and delivering clinical work in the team to children, young people and their families. You will be well supported by an experienced CBT supervisor and a team of skilled clinicians. While building experience and working towards your course requirements, you will be delivering CBT for anxiety presentations, depression and PTSD, within the CAMHS pathway model of delivery.
Successful candidates will be expected to undertake a blended model of learning (a mix of online and onsite) and be able to travel to the university base as required (travel expenses will be reimbursed). Whilst on placement you will need to be able to travel between sites, and be able conduct home visits when required.

These trainee Band 6 CBT posts will be based in E Sussex CAMHS and will lead to permanent Band 7 posts upon successful completion of training, preceptorship and BABCP accreditation.
We are passionate about providing effective specialist mental health interventions for children and young people.
As these are training positions, please be aware that this is a dual application process where you must be employed in a Recruit to Train funded job to also receive a place on the course, and vice-versa. If you are ineligible for the University Course, we will be unable to be offer you the role. If you withdraw from an employment offer but you have accepted a university offer, you will be unable to join the course. Please note in this instance the course is not optional; the roles are dependent on meeting all course requirements.
Successful trainees who satisfactorily complete the training course will be offered permanent posts with the ability to progress to Band 7 upon accreditation with the BABCP.
If successful, you will need to be able to start the training/clinical post on January 2024. The course will require travel to KCL's site in London, with some of the training delivered remotely.

- Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service
- Assess clients for suitability for the treatment for which training is provided.
- Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department’s referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.
- Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for clients.
5. Involve family members and others in treatment as necessary, conveying therapy formulations with sensitivity in easily understood language. - Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
- Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.
- Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.
- Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols
- Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.
- Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process
