We are looking for an experienced practitioner in positive behaviour support with our learning disability short breaks service. Come and join us and experience the difference that we can make together.
You will join a friendly, supportive team and work within a skilled, experienced MDT. We promote close MDT working, enabling a holistic approach to patient care and developments. Our teams are led by highly specialist health professionals, and support a wide skill mix of clinicians within the community setting in both health and social care.
We will support you with specialist and bespoke training, to reach your potential and excel in your role. We will welcome your ideas for service development and provide you with the support you need to grow as a professional.
You will benefit from the additional support of a network of colleagues across the city. Professional development is valued and supported within our teams. You will receive one to one clinical support, professional development, regular specialist multidisciplinary support and education and regular reviews and supervision.

The PBS Practitioner will be expected to work within a multi professional framework, managing a defined case load of adult service users with Learning Disabilities and complex health needs, within the boundaries set out by the registered practitioner responsible for the service users care delivery.
Working within the framework of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS), the post holder will be involved in the assessing, coaching, planning and implementing support plans in a holistic manner, under supervision from the specialist nurses, and in liaison with families and other professionals.
Working flexibly to support learning disabled people who may present with severe and complex behaviours that challenge and communication needs, the PBS Practitioner will work across a variety of settings which include the community and day service settings within the city of Manchester and bed based short breaks service as well as other community settings and, in some circumstances, the persons own home.
Delivering training to small professional groups, service users and carers, the post holder will work to a monthly rota pattern which may include 24/7 cover, shift work, sleep in’s and waking nights.
The PBS Practitioner is expected to work flexibly in varying locations and at varying times to meet the needs of the service.
