The post-holder will provide general medical services in the out of hours period and deal with a wide range of health needs in the urgent care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
- Join our GP team and receive a £10,000 retention payment after 12 months
- Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) is offering a retention and relocation payment package for salaried GP posts.
- Through the scheme, if your application is successful and you take up employment with CWP in a salaried GP post, you will receive a retention payment of £10,000 from us when you have been in post with us for 12 months.

- We are also offering a separate relocation payment package of up to £8,000 for anyone who would need to relocate in order to take up a role with CWP. This one-off payment will be awarded on a case-by-case basis.
- To be eligible for the relocation payment, you must live more than 40 miles from the base/location of the post you are applying for and you would need to relocate to within 15 miles of the new base. If this applies to you, please state this on your application so we can discuss with you in more detail if you are invited to interview.

Manage the medical requirements of patients who contact the service.
In accordance with the service rota as agreed, the post-holder will undertake clinical sessions at all bases including face-to-face appointments, telephone advice and visiting patients at home. Required shifts include evenings, weekends, night shifts and bank holidays. A minimum of working two weekends per month and 4 of the 8 bank holidays will be included in the rota. These duties should be performed in a timely manner using agreed protocols.
Respond to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral where appropriate.
Provide medical support as required to patients referred by nursing staff.
Adhere to the CWP prescribing formulary, local and national guidelines.
Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self- referred or referred from other health care workers within the Trust.
Record clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards.
Engaging in appropriate lifelong educational and audit activity in order to maintain clinical competence and performance, including the completion of objectives agreed by yourself and the service, in an annual Personal Development Plan.
Supporting the multi-disciplinary team and responding to requests for advice and assistance from the service reception, administration and nursing staff.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.
New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.

- A medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003
- Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983
- Qualified General Practitioner (completed certificate of Completion of Training – CCT)
- Currently on a CCG performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical register
- Have had an annual NHS appraisal
