The Arts Curator (Participation Programmes) role is an exciting opportunity to manage a growing participatory arts programme in Newcastle Hospitals Charity. The multidisciplinary Arts Programme is based in one of the largest teaching NHS Trusts in the Country, and this role contributes to applying creativity to enhance the hospital experience and deepen engagement with our local communities.
You will be a motivated self-starter with a passion for creative community engagement and for health and wellbeing. You will support the Arts Programme Manager and growing Arts Team, in delivery of the Arts Programme across the Trust. The programme provides arts and cultural activities for staff, patients and families to enhance the hospital environment; promote health and wellbeing and to engage with the wider community.

- Passionate and knowledgeable about the arts and the role of creativity, you will manage delivery of the arts participation programmes for Newcastle Hospitals, working in partnership with a range of diverse organisations and community groups.
- You will have experience of the managing arts projects and have awareness of best practice of working with artists. You will have excellent organisational management skills and be able to communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders, such as Trust staff, patients, artists, and cultural partners.

- Manage, deliver and evaluate an annual programme of arts participation programmes for Newcastle Hospitals Charity, including but not limited to live music engagement on Trust sites, bedside arts activities, dance and theatre programmes.
- Manage, deliver and support any creative freelancers engaged in delivery within the Arts Programme (Participation)
- Implement and monitor policies, processes and guidance for arts participation programmes to ensure compliance with the standards set out by the Fundraising Regulator, the Charity Commission and the Trust.
- Lead on the arts participation programme to identify and develop opportunities to support Charity fundraising.
- Represent Newcastle Hospitals Charity and the Trust in internal and public facing forums.
- Working closely with colleagues within the NHS to raise the profile of the Charity Art’s Programme.
- Actively contribute, where necessary, to key committees such as the Charity Committee, the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation Committee and the Great North Children’s Hospitals Foundation Committee.
- Provision of reports/presentations and supplementary information to the Charity Committee; the Charity Director, Arts Programme Manager and key stakeholders, as required.
- Work closely with the Charity Finance team and appropriate Trust teams to ensure accurate record and reporting in relation to Charity Arts Programme (Participation) activities.
- Working closely with the Charity Communications team in helping to publicise and promote Charity Arts Programme (Participation).
- Working with the Charity Events and Volunteer Manager to develop a group of arts volunteers to support the Arts Programme (Participation).
