Permanent Band 4 Pre-Admission Screening Nursing Associate – Trafford Elective Hub.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and organised individual with clinical experience to join an established dynamic nursing team within pre-operative assessment. The prospective post holder will be a registered nursing associate who after appropriate training can undertake pre-admission screening assessments via telephone for multi-specialty patients prior to elective surgery.
The vacancy is for 1 posts full-time working will be considered; precise working hours will be discussed at interview. The clinic is presently open from 8am to 6pm 5 days a week; there is the opportunity to work long days. The service is based at Trafford General hospital.
We offer competency training for this role as well as regular supervision and support. Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, relatives, and members of the MDT. The applicant must have a good standard of written English, mathematics, and an ability to use IT/technical systems.

The main objective of the unit is to assess and optimises patients for a wide range of elective surgical specialities therefore the prospective post holder will require a broad knowledge preferably within surgical nursing, although medical knowledge would be an advantage, with ideally 12 months experience as a band 4 nursing associate. Previous Pre-operative Assessment experience would be desired but not essential.Responsible for undertaking screening assessments for multi-specialty elective surgical patients.
Liaise with the wider MDT to escalate issues and concerns
Checking pre-op investigation results are within normal limits and escalating to the senior nurse where they are abnormal.
