Senior Project Manager
Working within the Project & Property Management Department

Advert
- To lead on the internal Capital Projects including charity funded projects taking day to day responsibility for successful delivery of the programme work within time, cost and quality
- Planning, organising, recruiting as appropriate, to deliver the programmes within the Trust’s governance structure and its adopted management and operating policies.
- Ensuring that appropriate project management documentation is developed and maintained as the basis for progression of activities and that people, including a range of external contractors are held to account.
- Developing and refining the governance framework for the project as they evolve with robust reporting systems in place to the relevant Project Board and Executive Management Team.
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive framework for management and reporting of risks and issues
- Coordinating the project with other Trust projects and general operational activity and ensuring that momentum is maintained
- Ensuring that the project is delivered within the cost, time and quality parameters set by the relevant Board Committees.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree of equivalent in Engineering / Construction related subject
- Professional / academic qualification to Masters level or equivalent level or experience of capital development
Desirable criteria
- Relevant professional or management qualifications e.g. Chartered Status such as RIBA, RICS, CIOB, APM, PMI, etc.
- Project/Programme Management qualification MSP Practitioner, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, APMP etc.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Professional background including specialist knowledge in more one or more of the following areas for at least 5 years: Architecture Engineering Quantity Surveying Building Surveying Project Management
- OR An equivalent level of experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience delivering capital schemes within the NHS
- Significant and proven/demonstrable experience of management, and of practical experience in project management of delivering complex building projects across large complex sites within an acute hospital healthcare environment or similar.
Desirable criteria
- Sound knowledge of corporate governance and an understanding of risk management
