Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is situated on the west coast of Lancashire, with services covering the local authority areas of Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre. The Trust is part of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS) supporting a population of around 1.6 million people.
We have three main hospitals providing acute services to around 330,000 local residents. The organisation also provides specialist tertiary care for cardiac and haematology services, delivers community health services to over 445,000 residents including those in North Lancashire and hosts the National Artificial Eye Service across England. Plus, we provide urgent and emergency care services to an estimated 18 million people who visit the seaside resort each year. We employ over 7000 people from 68 different countries.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Radiology Clinical Systems Manager at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.
This roles involves managing the clinical radiology systems within the directorate including all community sites.
The area of responsibility includes PACS and RIS, 3rd party software, and first line fault diagnosis of Trust IT systems directly impacting Radiology Systems,. The post holder will also be responsible for monitoring and reviewing workflows, data production, and equipment/software management. There will also be the requirement to act as a line manager for the Diagnsotic Support Team and the Radiology Clinical Systems Officer.

- Take responsibility for the day-to-day management, monitoring and maintenance of the PACS, RIS, and other Radiology Clinical System
- Acting as a liaison between special modality staff, radiologists, clerical staff and PACS/modality equipment suppliers
- Monitoring of the system usage in terms of data accuracy
- Maintain a good working knowledge and provide advice in first line fault diagnosis for the Trust IT systems directly impacting on PACS e.g. Cyberlab, Maxims, PAS, EPR/order comms
- Monitor and review/implement workflows across all systems and departments to ensure optimal patient care and department/system performance.
- Assist Department managers and Modality leads with purchasing new equipment/software, planning future upgrades and IT safety concerns.
- Configure new equipment and software within PACS & RIS and liaise with relevant IT departments to ensure this can function correctly on the Trust network
- Assess documentation from vendors to ensure that requirements are met.
- Write and manage departmental policies and procedures for the clinical systems
- Monitor staff competence in the use of DR, PACS, RIS, Maxims and CyberRad - providing update training and developing strategies to monitor and improve input data quality
- Plan for major Radiology Clinical Systems developments across the Trust
