Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Safeguarding leader who is highly motivated with positive energy and enthusiasm to join an established Safeguarding Team, leading MASH Health in Birmingham and Solihull.
The post holder will provide safeguarding leadership in both Birmingham MASH and Solihull MASH ensuring the organisation’s workforce is confident and competent to identify and work in partnership to protect children and vulnerable adults and support the partnership safeguarding responsibilities in Birmingham and Solihull. The post holder will support the organisation to meet both statutory and regulatory duties related to safeguarding.
The ideal candidate will be expected to work in a demanding environment and must be able to adapt to change to meet the service requirements and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines. Build positive relationships with a wide range of organisations and individuals.
In addition, the post holder must have the ability to multi-task whilst remaining calm and professional at all times.
Advert
The post will be employed by Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust within the Safeguarding Children team and work provide operational management across both Birmingham and Solihull Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) providing health clinical leadership, operational management and senior health leadership to the partnership.
The post holder will participate in strategic partnerships across both Birmingham and Solihull and region providing a health voice and context to strategic service developments.

The post holder will be responsible for strategically leading the health component of Birmingham and Solihull MASHs supporting the named health professionals, leading audit programmes and ensuring that data collection and reporting requirements are met in a timely manner.
The post holder will take the high level leadership which is pivotal to the success of the role, combining professional nursing practice, credibility with proven and highly effective managerial attributes and financial acumen.
Must be able to travel to all MASH bases - 1 Avenue, Solihull and Priestly Wharf

- Registered Nurse
- Specialist Community Public Health Nurse/ Health Visitor/School Nurse
- Line management qualification or experience of managing a clinical team
- Evidence of current ongoing training and development in safeguarding
Experience

- Extensive experience of practice in the field of child protection
- Community or Acute experience
- Recent significant experience in child protection or a lead safeguarding role for adults/children
- Experience in working with community caseloads comprising high dependency/complex family issues and child protection concerns
- Experience of authoring Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews and Domestic Homicide Reviews

- Experience of leading learning lesson review
