Be at the heart of future public service design by joining our Digital Services team.
As a Service Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the way we deliver services to our residents, making those services and associated digital products more user-centred and efficient.
You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to conceive, design and deliver end-to-end digital services. You will also be responsible for advocating for the needs of our residents and ensuring that our services meet their expectations.

As part of our Digital Strategy and Design team you will collaborate with user researchers, business engagement professionals, and product development specialists. You will lead the identification and design of end-to-end digitally enabled services.
You will inform and deliver on digital transformation plans for council services. This will include leading on mapping service and user journeys, and helping services understand opportunities to transform.
You will deliver prototypes of innovative design proposals and interactions to help service areas understand the possibilities of change.
The successful candidate will benefit from a role that will expand as you develop skills and experience. We are seeking candidates that can demonstrate an understanding and application of service design principles, practices, and methods, including the application of user research.

Digital Services is the central hub for technology support to Islington Council. Delivering core IT services and IT/Digital projects across all council services. We aim to provide exceptional experiences for the users of our digital products and services.
The Service Designer will work in an exciting and diverse environment with various teams across Digital Services and a wide range of council departments. You will develop relationships across the council, as you develop and inform the future of our digital products and service design.

Qualifications

- 1. Educated to degree level with a related business or technology qualification, or demonstrable equivalent knowledge and skills and experience in service design or business analysis roles.
- 2. Project management qualification or commensurate experience working within a project/programme framework
- 3. A relevant certified Service Design qualification, or equivalent Business Analysis qualification with experience of applying this to service design work and service blueprint outputs.
