As a SPA senior Administrator, you will be a point of contact for a range of referrals in the community via phone, email, or other electronic means enabling early intervention and avoiding admissions to hospital as well as enabling a timely discharge from the acute hospitals to community hospital beds.
Working in SPA offers you an opportunity to put most of your skills to practice as well as learn a wide range of new valuable skills.
SPA service is spread over two bases, Abingdon, and Banbury which gives flexibility to attend whichever base is nearest to you. SPA operates 8am-8pm, 365 days a year on a shift pattern basis. To support a good work-life balance, shifts are communicated six weeks before the rota is due to start, which means you can plan things well in advance. Shift patterns are usually a fair mix of 08:00-16:00hrs, 09:00-17:00, 10:30-18:30hrs, and 12:00-20:00hrs.
Full time hours are based on 37.5hrs per week.

The post holder will provide efficient administrative support to SPA Clinical team, accurately inputting data and maintaining database information systems. This includes collating information from other partner services and organisations.
You will work as part of a close-knit team to ensure referrals are processed in a timely and accurate manner to the right team. The workload can be busy and changeable, so a can-do attitude and an adaptable approach is required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Single Point of Access (SPA) is a telephone triage service which provides a quick and easy way for members of the public, GPs, and other healthcare professionals to make referrals to community health services such as community nursing, community therapy, and other community services for people living in Oxfordshire aged 18 years and over.
SPA team is made up of experienced administrators and clinicians who work closely together to ensure referrals are processed in a timely manner and in the right pathway. When you start, you’ll have line manager and peer support as well as training and other resources to support you do your work effectively.

Qualifications-Academic/Skills/Professional
Essential criteria
- English to GCSE or equivalent. Good numerical skills. Excellent verbal and written English skills.
Desirable criteria
- Advanced ECDL or equivalent IT knowledge. Higher Education qualification (i.e., 'A' Level/NVQ III standard) or equivalent. IT Skills to RSA3/NVQ Level 3, or equivalent experience
Knowledge and Experience

- Previous experience in an administrative role. Proven experience of working in an office environment. Experience of using Office computer programs including Excel, Word and Outlook. Ability to liaise with all professionals and levels in a confident and effective manner. Ability to deal with the public in a polite and effective manner. Ability to manage and prioritise own workload. Ability to produce good quality correspondence and reports. Ability to minute meetings. Organisational skills/managing diary systems and tracking information. Desire to attend courses relating to role as appropriate.
