The purpose of the Senior Digital Communications Manager’s job is to support the development and delivery of communications strategies which support the achievement of these commitments both publicly and internally. This role will focus on delivering digital communications content and design development plans and managing their delivery.
The postholder will be responsible for leading on the strategic development, implementation and evaluation of in-house online public health campaigns.
He/she will bring comprehensive experience and expertise in the field of digital campaign development, applying the latest communications thinking to maximise their effectiveness.
The postholder will lead on a significant shift in how we deliver services to our internal clients; a shift in ways of working that positions our digital communications expertise as credible, leading edge, effective and innovative.
He/she will take a strategic lead in the development of the Digital Team.
This post will be responsible for building and maintaining a set of internal client relationships. This will involve providing support to clients on communications planning for their operational plan, followed by the effective and efficient delivery of campaigns and other communications related activity as agreed. These Directorates are large, complex and important functions that have their own unique networks and stakeholders. There is therefore considerable breadth to the communications work involved.
Advert
- Develop complex and major behaviour digital work and campaigns in relation to Public Health Wales strategic objectives. The postholder will need to demonstrate knowledge in communications theory to ensure successful outcomes, providing specialist and digital services.
- Demonstrate advanced strategic planning skills and abilities in the development of digital campaigns and delivery – ensuring that key stakeholders and senior leaders are fully informed of progress, continuously assessing the effectiveness of progress and making course corrections when required. A focus on constant measurement and evaluation of outcomes will be vital for the effective delivery of work.
- Build digital communications into all long-term strategic planning, advising, influencing and persuading senior staff on appropriate approaches where necessary.
- Lead and sponsor specific communication projects as required to develop new ways of working in line with the strategies and business plans of the organisation.
- Use analytics and attribution to understand the reach, impact and results of digital communications work and develop mechanisms to track and evaluate campaigns and activities
- The role will require the constant evaluation and use of new technology, such as apps and digital channels to support campaigns and expertise in measurement and evaluation of campaigns.

The salary scale shown is for a full-time member of staff, with the amount being adjusted pro rata for those working less than 37.5 hours per week.
