Trafford CAMHS have an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist to join our dynamic, supportive team offering mental health support to children and young people. You will be an enthusiastic clinical psychologist with significant clinical experience in mental health settings ready for a new challenge developing a relationship and trauma focused pathway.

You will be responsible for the provision of a psychological informed service for young people presenting in psychological distress.  You will have specialist therapeutic skills and experience in at least one area such as Attachment focused interventions, trauma, CBT,  and provide leadership in the support needed.

Clinical psychology is well integrated and valued both within the team and within the wider MFT CAMHS directorate under the Director of Psychological Services.  

Trafford CAMHS is located in the vibrant town of Sale serving a diverse community.  You will be part of an expanding and energetic CAMHS team that is co-located with colleagues from children’s social care and education.  Trafford CAMHS delivers services in line with the Thrive framework and sees service user feedback and participation as key components of service delivery and development.

This role will involve:

• complex assessments leading to psychological formulations of distress
• implementing a range of therapeutic interventions for individuals, families and carers
• collaboration with service users regarding the selection and use of suitable Outcome Measures and ensure feedback and discussion regarding use of such measures to help optimise engagement, 
  clinical effectiveness and to monitor progress
• Where designated, attend meetings with partner agencies to discuss referrals, joint working and to improve relations and function with these agencies
• Undertaking risk assessment and risk management for individuals and providing advice to other professions, on the psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management
• To participate in all shared CAMHS rotas such as locality team duty cover

The post will involve both direct and indirect specialist supervision and consultation including; supervising and supporting the psychological assessment and therapy provided by more junior psychologists and other clinical members of the teams, providing psychologically based care and treatment to service users whilst also providing specialist supervision, and consultation and training to members of teams working with the service users.

The post will involve working alongside  the senior leadership team to ensure effective implementation of best practice.
