Exciting opportunity for post-MRCP doctors to develop skills in clinical informatics. Gain training in clinical epidemiology and data science, learn key skills in research and contribute to established research projects. Join a team of research-active consultants and be encouraged to publish academic papers.
All applicants must be eligible for full GMC registration. Applicants must be post- MRCP and be competent to work at ST3 and above. Research experience is desirable, but enthusiastic candidates who have not been in academic training but have the potential to establish a research career will be equally welcome. UK-based trainees would be encouraged to seek prospective approval for Out of Programme Experience from their Training Programme Director.

Fellows will operate on a rota separate to the core medical staff, though would be expected to lead the acute medical take as the Departmental Medical Registrar in the event of any absences or rota gaps.
The post holder will work under direct supervision of the Acute Medicine service consultants and their educational supervisor in Acute Medical Unit, UCLH. The post holder will collaborate with clinical academics, other research fellows, research nurses, other clinical staff. Each post holder will be allocated a clinical and research supervisor.

Department of Acute Medicine (Acute Medical Unit)
These posts (up to 6) offer specialist experience in acute medicine combined with substantial research, quality improvement and educational opportunities. The objective is to give fellows protected time and academic mentorship to pursue research in line with their own interests and departmental. The rota operates over a 6-week cycle, which includes 3 weeks in Acute Medicine (with OOH enhancements). These posts are fixed-term contracts of 12 months in the first instance with a start date March 2023. We will support less-than-full-time working.
This post is not formally approved for training. However, fellows will be able to take advantage of opportunities arising during clinical work to have their competencies logged on the NHS e-portfolio which may be recognised in future ARCPs.
