This is advertised as a developmental role for a band 7 Clinical Psychologist to become a band 8a upon completion of required competencies. But we are also open to applications from existing band 8a Psychologists who would be interested in joining the team at that level.
An attractive position has arisen within Selby CAMHS. Selby CAMHS offers close road links to cities such as Hull, York and Leeds. The service provides free parking and there is café on site. The team highly holds staff wellbeing and are excited to welcome a new team member to be part of this. The team are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Applied Psychologist to provide a psychology service within the Selby CAMHS Team.
The post will involve working in the community within the supportive and collaborative multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and interventions to young people and their families experiencing a wide range of difficulties. They will be involved in providing individual therapy to children and young people, alongside working within the neurodevelopmental part of the service. Selby CAMHS believe in offering a high quality and effective service, and the successful candidate will be supported in undertaking service improvement initiatives in line with this.

The post holders will offer supervision, advice, consultation and training to other members of the CAMHS team and will play a key role in continuing to develop the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working of the teams.
The successful candidate will be under the support and guidance of the Consultant Psychologist within the Selby CAMHS team. Selby CAMHS will also invest in the continuing professional development for the successful candidate in order to fulfil the service and professional needs. The team provides training placements & teaching for the local DClinPsy courses.
Experience of working with young people and families is important, as well as the ability to work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team and with our multi-agency partner organisations. The post holder will receive regular supportive supervision and work closely with psychology colleagues based both within the North Yorkshire, York and Selby CAMHS team. There is a strong psychology network across the trust and within the CAMHS directorate.

Trust Welcome Day
Here at Tees, Esk and Wear Valley Foundation NHS Trust we want you to have a positive experience when you start your new role with us. To ensure you have great welcome, for all new starters joining the Trust, we offer two start dates per month on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of that Month.
On your start date, you will be invited to our in person Trust Welcome Day at our Flatts Lane Centre, Middlesborough. - Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist

- Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainees
