UCLH is looking for a lead consultant clinical psychologist in adult Audiovestibular Medicine. This is a unique opportunity to work in the largest multi-disciplinary department devoted to Audiovestibular Medicine in UK. The post is based at the Royal National ENT & Eastman Dental Hospital (RNENTEDH), part of the Specialist Hospital Board.
Leading a team of highly skilled and experienced psychologists within adult and paediatric service; working collaboratively with professionals from a wide range of disciplines in the investigation, treatment, management and rehabilitation of patients presenting with Audiovestibular disorders. Successful applicants will be expected to have excellent communication skills and high level of clinical experience/knowledge in Audiovestibular Medicine/Neuro-otology. The consultant will be expected to contribute to the administrative, teaching, research and management activities within the department, to represent the service at a senior management level within the hospital and to maintain and develop the national and international profile of the service. Candidates should have experience of CBT and of acceptance-based therapy approaches, particularly MBCT.

- To be responsible for the development, provision and management of specialist psychological services in the RNENTED Hospital (in particular within audiovestibular medicine [AVM]) at UCLH.
- To provide clinical leadership by ensuring the systematic governance of psychological practice within services and systems for the effective clinical and professional supervision of psychological practitioners working in RNENTEDH. To carry out policy and service development and audit and research activities and/or programmes.
- To act as an expert and be a resource in the application of psychology and related disciplines to audiovestibular disorders both locally and nationally.
- To work as a senior clinician in designated clinical subspecialties and consultant for multi-disciplinary staff groups, providing advanced highly specialist psychological input for patients and staff, working autonomously within professional guidelines and within the overall framework of relevant organizations’ policies and procedures.

- Experience of working with people from the full range of social backgrounds, across the whole life course and presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
- Experience of the application of clinical psychology in different cultural contexts.
- Experience of working in a multi-professional team involving physicians, surgeons, nurses, midwives and allied health professionals.
- Experience of teaching, training and clinical supervision of clinical and/or other applied psychologists.
