Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join Saint Mary’s Managed Clinical Service (MCS) Innovation and Improvement Team. We are looking to appoint an Innovation and Improvement Manager to help deliver our portfolio of improvement programmes across the MCS.
The Saint Mary’s Managed Clinical Service (which has services operating from the majority of MFT sites) is made up from:
- The Genomic Medicine Division
- The Gynaecology Division
- The Newborn Services Division
- The Maternity Service Division
- The Sexual Assault Referral Centre Directorate
The post will focus on supporting a range of services with service improvement programmes and projects.
Advert
The post holder will manage their own portfolio of improvement programmes as agreed with the Assistant Director of Business and Innovation. They will be responsible for the on-going health of their programmes, working with programme sponsors and stakeholders to ensure they progress towards the delivery of the expected outcomes, and ensure that appropriate monitoring mechanisms are in place to monitor that progress. They will ensure the coherence and focus of programmes are maintained, and develop the appropriate environment to support each individual project within them. The post holder will also work with the wider I&IT and the Director of Business and Innovation to help promote and develop a culture of improvement and innovation within the Saint Mary’s MCS.

Training and Education
Essential criteria
- Evidence of project or programme management training.
- Evidence of change management and service improvement training.
- Evidence of commitment to Continued Professional Development.
Desirable criteria
- Project PRINCE 2 (Practitioner) or Managing Successful Programmes (Practitioner) accreditation
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Qualified to degree level or clinical Qualification
- Previous experience of working in a programme management role or change management role
- Process redesign experience
- Knowledge and change management and service improvement tools and techniques.
- Demonstrable ability to lead and drive teams.
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Understand, disseminate and present complex information to a variety of stakeholders, using both verbal and written disciplines.
- Well-developed negotiating and influencing skills.
- High personal resilience and a commitment to deliver.
- Ability to assess and prioritise conflicting workload commitments.
- • Demonstrable relationship management skills and an ability to communicate effectively with staff from all grades and disciplines.
