Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is delighted to advertise substantive Consultant Radiologist posts with a specialist interest in Musculoskeletal Imaging to join our existing motivated and dynamic team across this large, developing, and aspirational Trust. The posts are within the Adults’ Radiology Directorate within the Division of Imaging
The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of 57 Consultant Radiologists in Adults’ Radiology providing a full range of imaging services to the local population and tertiary level services across Greater Manchester and beyond. Adults’ Radiology is the largest department within the Division of Imaging, and our consultant team provides a full range of general and specialist imaging for adult patients across our 3 Acute and 2 non-acute hospital sites.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of 11 MSK radiologists providing a full range of MSK services to the local population and tertiary level Soft tissue Sarcoma services to Greater Manchester and beyond. The successful candidate should be competent to report all aspects of MSK cross sectional imaging and perform MSK Ultrasound, and basic intervention techniques (e.g. joint injections). Experience in advanced MSK techniques and biopsy work is desirable, the division is very supportive of training and skills development for any successful applicant. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to our MSK MDTs dependent upon experience, which includes the regional Sarcoma MDT and multiple benign meetings including Orthopaedics and Rheumatology meetings.
Acute & On-Call Radiology
This comes with 1PA of general Acute and 0.5 PA of On-call.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full GMC registration or eligibility for full registration, with specialist registration for radiology or be within 6 months of CCT
- MBChB or equivalent
- Fellowship of Royal College of Radiologists
Desirable criteria
- Post graduate degree or diploma
Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of training in core radiology (UK CCT or equivalent)
- Evidence of subspecialty training in musculoskeletal imaging
Desirable criteria
- Fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging
Clinical and technical skills
Essential criteria
- Wide experience of all aspects of diagnostic MSK and acute radiology including CT, MRI USS & fluoroscopy.
- Basic MSK interventional techniques including join injections and appetite to develop further skills
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of advanced MSK skills
- Advanced MSK intervention skills such as Sarcoma biopsy work or advanced ablation work
