Job overview
HCA ROLE DESCRIPTION
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a developmental role within our Division, working with a team of clinical and support staff to deliver the Child Development Service within the Community Paediatric Team. Community Paediatrics – East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (esht.nhs.uk)
DESCRIPTION: The role would be as a HCA/Neurodevelopmental Clinic Supervisor, where you would be trained in support and delivery of child and parent/carer’s visits to our centre. This would be mainly based in Bexhill, however, there may be occasions when you would be required to support our staff and service in clinics at other sites including the two main hospitals (Eastbourne and Conquest) and also satellite centres in community health or education establishments across East Sussex.
Advert
The key skills required for this role involve working in a largely non-clinical community environment, in the specialist field of Child Development, Neurodisability and children in temporary or permanent care. (Looked After Children); This post involves supporting child and family throughout their journey with us by helping them to feel at ease in the department whilst waiting, providing responsive care according to daily changing need. The NCS would offer practical and emotional support for the duration of the appointment, for families who might be undergoing a diagnostic process and thus, an emotional time. The post will be very rewarding to anyone for whom this is an important part of their job satisfaction. This is an ideal position for anyone with previous experience of working with children in a childcare/education setting and also a good development role for anyone who is hoping to move into further training and working with families and children with additional needs.
