Band 6/7 Advanced Specialist Cardiac Physiologist Echocardiography
We are looking for enthusiastic, committed, dynamic individuals to join our Team at Manchester Foundation Trust who will have the opportunity to rotate between sites to provide Cardiac Diagnostic Services both in a large tertiary centre, District General and the community setting.
Manchester Foundation Trust offers a full spectrum of Invasive and Non-Invasive cardiac diagnostic investigations and is committed to developing staff and actively developing new roles for service provision.

We will consider individuals who have passed their BSE written exam and are working towards their full accreditation to be appointed at Band 6 level. Achievement of Band 7 will be considered after completion of a minimum of one year of supervised scanning and reporting, attaining BSE accreditation, and completing a minimum of six months post accreditation consolidation . They would also need to complete all departmental sign-off and will be required to be comfortable and competent in a community setting.

Independently practises with a high level of skill and autonomy at Advanced Specialist level in at least one field of tertiary cardiology
Independently practises with a high level of skill and autonomy a wide range of other cardiac physiology procedures
Provides effective day-to-day leadership of the cardiac physiology team within the advanced specialist field and other areas when required
Actively participates in practical & theoretical training & development of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals from inside and outside of the organisation
Participates in cardiac & associated medical research as integral to the role
To undertake any other duties which is deemed appropriate to the band when requested by Principal Cardiac Physiologist

Essential criteria
- BSc Clinical Physiology/Healthcare Science MSc Clinical Physiology/Healthcare Science or Equivalent Experience and qualifying long service
- BSE Accreditation (Band 6 will need to have passed BSE written exam )
Desirable criteria
- Voluntary Registration with ACHCS or HCPC
- Teaching qualification (T4T, D32)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience.
- Practical & formal teaching of Cardiac Physiologists and other HCPs
- Multi-disciplinary team work

- Tertiary cardiac physiology practise
- Invasive cardiac physiology practise
- Participation in cardiac research
