Trauma Risk Management Co-Ordinator and Trainer

We are looking to second an experienced Nurse to support the roll out of our Trauma Risk Management support project across the forensic services.  

TRiM is a first level peer support system aimed at early recognitions and intervention for psychological trauma symptoms in staff exposed to workplace trauma.  The TRiM Manager role is to be responsible for the timely and efficient deployment of TRiM practitioners following an incident in which staff may have been exposed to potentially traumatic adversities.  The person will also be responsible for contributing to the planning, delivery, and monitoring of TRiM activity across the forensic services.  They will also be responsible for providing TRiM revision and practice sessions and supporting the roll-out of TRiM practitioners, supervision, and governance, including completing audits and reporting on those at a directorate level.

• To act as a focal point and co-ordinator for TRiM activities across the Directorate and to promote TRiM across the service.
• To coordinate incident briefings, and TRiM assessments, ensure appropriate record keeping form these meetings and follow-up as required.
• To be responsible for managing and co-ordinating an effective and timely TRiM response within the agreed timeframe (from 72 hours post incident for TRiM response). This should be in keeping with NICE guidelines to facilitate appropriate early recognition of emerging signs of stress, which could potentially develop into PTSD and ensure accurate support and signposting as required. Daily monitoring of the incident reports, organising planning meetings within 0-72 hours with key stakeholders and attendance at the weekly Service Review meeting will be key to a prompt TRiM response.
• To oversee and support TRiM practitioners across the directorate, ensuring that their practice and training is in-date and to provide supervision and support for their practice.
• To develop and use teaching skills to become a TRiM trainer, and once completed contribute to the ongoing training of TRiM practitioners.
• Be a trained TRiM Manager and be responsible for ensuring that all current TRiM Practitioners are supported to maintain their credentials and complete annual refresher training as needed
