We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Accounting Assistant to join our busy Financial Services Team.
We’re excited to be recruiting for a passionate and driven Senior FInancial Accounting Assistant to be an integral part of a high-quality Financial Services Function.
We are looking for an individual who is an experienced, highly organised and motivated individual, who likes to work on their own but can work well as part of a team with a ‘positive can-do attitude and a passion for giving back. You’ll be responsible for providing financial support to the Deputy Financial Accountant and Financial Accountant, managing your own workload and providing complex information as required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Support the Deputy Financial Accountant to drive process improvement within the Financial Services team
- Responsible for the coordination of all Financial Services management information required for inclusion in the Monthly Board reports
- Where required ensure the production of other Financial Services Reporting is in line with requirement e.g. FOI requests

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- ECDL
- Part qualified CCAB/CIMA or AAT qualified
Desirable criteria
- CCAB qualified
- Demonstrable post qualification development and achievement of CPD
- Educated to Degree Level or equivalent.
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- • Understanding of the NHS and the Trust Financial Regime
- • Understand and be able to interpret relevant accounting standards and other guidance.
- • Knowledge of matters relating to Indirect Taxation.
- • Demonstrable experience of working at a senior level across a range of finance functions.
- • Demonstrable experience of working with a computerised accounting package.
- • A knowledge of all applications found in “Microsoft Office”.
- • Ability to create complex spread sheets.
Desirable criteria
- • Understanding of the “benefits system” and the criterion for eligibility.
- • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and legal requirement under Probate.
- • Working knowledge of Integra Ledger system.
- • Staff management experience.
- • Experience of working within an NHS Finance Department.
