We provide a wide range of healthcare services delivered by 8,600 highly trained staff and volunteers. Our services cost over £400m each year to provide and we invest around £18m each year in improving our clinical services by replacing and upgrading our medical equipment, modernising our estate and facilities and improving our information and technology infrastructure. In an average year, we treat more than 180,000 A&E patients, nearly half a million outpatients and almost 100,000 inpatients.

Job overview
Due to the retirement of the current post holder an extremely rare and exciting opportunity has arisen within our children's community services.
We are looking for a strong, dynamic and energetic Team Leader who shares our passion for providing therapeutic palliative and bereavement support to children, young people 0-19 years and their families.
You will be responsible for the daily operational management and leadership of the service Monday to Friday 9.00am to 17.00hrs with a requirement to work flexibly according to the needs of individual children / young people and their families providing after school visits and occasional weekend work eg. to support sibling and family days.
Applicants must be NMC Registered Nurse (child), Health Visitor, or School Nurse . A leadership and management qualification and a child bereavement qualification or equivalent experience of both is essential. A teaching / mentoring qualification and evidence of continued professional development is part of the essential criteria.
Applicants will manage a caseload working in partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams and interagency working within the community setting will be part of the role.
This challenging post requires a highly skilled, self-motivated resilient individual who has the experience of undertaking comprehensive family assessments to enable the team to provide appropriate individual and direct family interventions.

You will have responsibility for the daily operational management and leadership of the Specialist Family Practitioner’s Team. You will ensure the delivery of high quality health care and support to children, young people and their families, at home and in various community settings.
You will work collaboratively with your team to develop and co-ordinate a highly specialist family palliative and bereavement support service for families of terminally ill babies and children. Offering families bereavement support for those babies, children and young people who have died, children and young people affected by an adult’s palliative terminal illness and bereavement support to families following a parent death.
As part of the Senior Childrens Community Leadership Team you will focus upon maintaining the existing positive, safe learning environment for your team. Through kind, compassionate, inclusive leadership you will ensure the wellbeing of individual team members by establishing supportive relationships and working practices, providing specialist supervision, training and maintenance of appropriate professional boundaries.
