The United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (ULTH) is one of the largest trusts in the country. Through four main hospitals we provide a comprehensive range of hospital-based medical, surgical, paediatric, obstetric and gynaecological services to the 700,000 people of Lincolnshire.
We provide a wide range of healthcare services delivered by 8,600 highly trained staff and volunteers. Our services cost over £400m each year to provide and we invest around £18m each year in improving our clinical services by replacing and upgrading our medical equipment, modernising our estate and facilities and improving our information and technology infrastructure. In an average year, we treat more than 180,000 A&E patients, nearly half a million outpatients and almost 100,000 inpatients.

Start Date: On or after 1st April 2024
The Pharmacy Department is looking to recruit a new Specialist Pharmacist to support with the local commissioning agenda and to act as an interface between secondary care and local commissioners, in relation to aspects of clinical patient care which impacts both parties.
The key tasks include being actively involved in the research and develop new models of care for patients which improve quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness around the primary and secondary care interface. Also to work closely with the high cost drugs and homecare team to implement and manage the processes for approval, appropriate use and audit of high cost and other drugs commissioned directly by local area commissioners.
Your daily activities will include providing specialist clinical pharmacist support, pharmaceutical advice and financial information to nursing, medical and administrative staff related to locally commissioned drugs. You will also be responsible for managing and supervising the duties of pharmacists, pre-registration pharmacists and technicians.
You must be a registered pharmacist with the GPhC, hold a pharmacy degree and be able to demonstrate evidence of your Continued Professional Development (CPD). You must have experience of working in an acute hospital and be able to travel between Trust sites.
