Information Governance

NHS North East London Integrated Care Board (ICB) was formed on 1 July 2022.

We are working with local people and partners across health, social care and the voluntary sector in innovative ways to improve health and wellbeing for all our communities. Our key priority in the next year will be to develop closer integrated and collaborative ways of working with all our partners to implement our Out of Hospital Strategy.

The post-holder will be responsible for providing senior information governance and data protection expertise and insight to BAU operations, programmes and projects to achieve beneficial changes in line with the strategic goals of the ICB. This role will provide thought leadership on information governance requirements across stakeholders in the context of the emerging Integrated Care Systems (ICS) and to include projects concerned with information sharing, interoperability, and citizen facing digital solutions, with a specific focus on ensuring the ICB submits a successful DSPT toolkit and records management, supporting asset owners and auditing internal processes and practice across the ICB.

  • Postholder has responsibility and accountability for own work area and leads independently on this.
    • Oversee team members’ delivery of day to day activities and projects and business initiatives.
    • Support a portfolio of initiatives; demonstrating value for money through tracking, managing and delivering agreed benefits.
    • Deliver effective stakeholder management across different departments and at all levels.
    • Manage the Records Management / Information Asset Management Framework, including naming conventions, filing structures and file plans. Support the management of archiving and appropriate retention and destruction of official records.
    • Support staff and stakeholder in the provision of appropriate filing structures, access control and management of electronic information.
    • Responsible for providing training in information governance and undertaking basic workplace assessments of practice.
    • Developing and supporting a culture of high-quality information governance management practice including providing advice and guidance on the operation of corporate policies where appropriate to staff.

• Implementing and supporting systems and practices which facilitate compliance with all legal, statutory and good practice requirements.
• Advising on best practice in compliance with policies and staff training on aspects of local information governance policy.
• Providing support to the Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO), the Data Protection Officer and Caldicott Guardian to ensure compliance with legal and ethical frameworks.
• Supporting the data protection regime providing complex advice to ensure operations within the policy framework.
• Delivering a programme of evidence gathering, monitoring, assessment and audit. This includes the management of assurance, evidence and audit of significant providers of services to the ICB
and the escalation of issues of quality, risk and management through the appropriate channels and in conjunction with the Senior Information Governance Manager and Senior Information 
Risk Owner.
• Operational delivery of the overarching Information Governance framework to meet statutory and legal requirements and an associated development plan.
