Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for expressions of interest for an Acting Assistant Director in the Essex and Kent Children’s Directorate/Leadership Team.
This post will cover Kent and Medway Adolescent Hospital (KMAH) and the Kent and Medway Crisis Response and Enhanced Support Team (CREST) across Kent and Medway geography.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Director of Children’s Services to build on existing strengths within the service portfolio and will lead on supporting the Trust’s vision in developing and transforming children and young people’s mental health service to ensure the very best system of care is provided through creative partnerships with patients, carers and staff.
The Assistant Director will be required to work with the ICB and system partners, supporting the Trust’s vision in developing and transforming Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Services to ensure the very best system of care is provided through creative partnerships with patients, carers and staff.
You will need to demonstrate strong people skills and the ability to work across organisational boundaries. In addition, you will be a decision maker and be able to motivate colleagues across multidisciplinary teams to deliver the highest quality services.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
