Job overview
As a LIMS Analyst with Epic accreditation, reporting to a LIMS Workstream Lead, you will support the delivery and the ongoing operation of the Epic Beaker LIMS and associated laboratory middleware for the South East London Pathology Service for Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts. You will be responsible for configuring, testing, deploying and supporting pathology workflows on the Epic Beaker LIMS in specific pathology disciplines which are Microbiology, Mycology and Virology.
You will work as a member of the pathology multi-disciplinary LIMS programme team, working with clinicians, clinical scientists and pathology operations staff to analyse, improve, harmonise and agree workflows for specific pathology disciplines across the Trusts. You will ensure that the LIMS is configured to ensure patient safety and optimal patient outcomes and to meet best practice ways of working and to achieve process cost efficiency. You will be required to support the Infection Sciences Workstream Lead to demonstrate and present system functionality, in order to gain support and understanding of clinical and operational stakeholders.
In the test phase you will develop test plans and scripts for your own areas of responsibility and conduct testing. You will be responsible for supporting the deployment of the LIMS system to laboratories in the Trusts and for supporting end users once the system is live.
This role is a unique career opportunity to be part of a truly remarkable transformation programme which will implement the largest and most ambitious pathology transformation in the UK using a world leading laboratory information management system (LIMS) in partnership with two of the largest and most prestigious NHS foundation trusts: Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital.
The core LIMS underpinning the Pathology Transformation Programme will be Epic Beaker which will also be a key component of the Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital electronic health record (EHR) programme, also known as Apollo. Apollo is the most ambitious programme of clinical pathway transformation the Trusts have ever undertaken and it will be powered by the world’s leading EHR system, Epic. The Epic Beaker LIMS, fully integrated to Trusts’ Epic EHR, will be at the heart of Synnovis Pathology Transformation programme.
