Are you looking for an opportunity to practice holistic medicine that offers you the flexibility to utilise your skills as a geriatrician, delivering person-centred integrated care for citizens of Birmingham Solihull local health economy and at the same time maintain healthy work life balance ,then this job is for you based at Moseley Hall Hospital, Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – known as BCHC. Although this post is fixed term it is likely to become permanent following transformation of intermediate care services in Birmingham /Solihull Integrated Care System BSOL ICS. BCHC actively works in integrated style with a range of partner organisations across health and social care and promotes equitable access for all to NHS services– and its 5,000 staff are dedicated to delivering the best care they can to those using our services, and to helping build healthy communities.
You will join a team of consultant geriatricians with some also working in the acute end of the pathway. BCHC has established partnership with Aston University Medical School and provides clinical rotation for 4th year medical student in community medicine . There is opportunity for additional paid session in a clinical tutor role and collaboration in research. BCHC
Possession of MRCP or equivalent qualification is essential, and applicants must be on the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of obtaining CCT in geriatric or general internal medicine

The post offers you the opportunity to care for older people in Community Hospitals and Intermediate Care Units within a multidisciplinary team. You will have opportunity to work across the Acute and community pathways including Virtual Wards, Urgent Care Response and Support to Care Home within Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System. We have established links with Old Age Psychiatry in Juniper Centre managed by Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust co-located in Moseley Hall site. There is opportunity to establish links with Memory clinic and support the BCHC Dementia and Frailty strategy. There is also opportunity to provide system leadership to BSOL Intermediate Care Vision around Place-based care.

In accordance with UK Home Office requirements, Band 2 clinical and non-clinical roles and Band 3 Non-Clinical roles are not eligible for sponsorship.
Please note that the majority of non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Band 3 - 6) with the exception of those which appear on this list - link, will not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK.
All non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Bands 7 - 9) that meet the prescribed skill level (RQF 6) and salary threshold will be eligible for sponsorship.
