We have a vacancy in the Trust’s IT Department and we are seeking an additional member to join the well-established Server team.
Working Monday to Friday 14:00 to 22:00 the primary role is to ensure Windows Server Operating Systems are patched and secure from cyber security vulnerabilities.
You will also be involved with many other tasks, including but not limited to monitoring and management of services, backup, recovery and Active Directory account and privilege management.
The team also has responsibility for two purpose built datacentres, one at the Freeman Hospital and the other at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. Management of these facilities including on site checks and use of remote management tools to proactively respond to alerts is required and is part of the role.

The IT Officer - Server Support role will be based in the Trusts IT Department at Regent Point.

You will also be part of the team providing second and third line support to the users of information technology across the Trust, in order to maximise the availability and functionality of applications and systems to end users.
You will also be involved the management of Trust wide system backups for direct attached storage and the storage area network

- To assist with the planning, implementation, management and development of the server and data storage infrastructure in order to provide the highest level of availability possible to end users of the computing equipment.
- To provide second and third line Server support to users of information technology across the Trust, in order to maximise the availability and functionality of applications and systems to end users. This may be either over the telephone, by email or at the desk-side.
- To install, configure, implement and maintain and upgrade a wide range of hardware and software.
- To assist with the management of Trust wide system backups for direct attached storage and the storage area network.
